Farmers Market Classes for SNAP Recipients, General Public

Alamance County Extension has teamed up with North Park Farmers Market in Burlington to offer TWO types of FREE classes throughout market season:


Join us on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:00 – 6:00 PM for a family-friendly nutrition class, starting May 8! There will be cooking demonstrations, food tastings, and discussions about foods in season at the market.

Classes will be held throughout the 2018 market season and are free to the public: May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, and October 9.

More in My Basket at the Market is a free class for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients. Alamance County Extension will be offering these classes monthly from April to October at North Park Farmers Market in Burlington. Each class includes information about using SNAP benefits at the market, a cooking demo, a food tasting, a market tour, and a gift bag.

Classes will be held from 4:30 – 5:45 pm on: May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, September 18, and October 16.
