Alamance County 4-H Youth Livestock- Recent Contest Results

Alamance County 4-H has a very active Youth Livestock Program that meets and practices year-round to prepare for contests throughout the year. On November 2-3, 2019, five Alamance County 4-H youth attended the NC State Fair Livestock Judging and Skillathon Contests at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. This is the sixth year that Alamance County 4-H has entered into the state fair contests.

Livestock Judging Individual Results:  Sage Robertson (junior division) placed 6th in meat goats, 3rd in swine, 4th in beef cattle, and 4th overall. Lane Whitfield (intermediate division) placed 7th in meat goats. Aiden Kernodle (intermediate division) placed 2nd in swine, 4th in beef cattle, 6th in oral reasons, and 3rd overall.

Livestock Skillathon Individual Results: Sage Robertson (junior division) placed 6th in quality assurance, 6th in evaluation, 5th in identification, and 5th overall. Lane Whitfield (intermediate division) placed 3rd in quality assurance, 5th in evaluation, 2nd in identification and 4th overall. Aiden Kernodle (intermediate division) placed 2nd in quality assurance, 6th in evaluation, 5th in identification, and 2nd overall.

Livestock Skillathon Team Results: Lane and Aiden were on a combined (paired with another county) intermediate team and their team placed 2nd in quality assurance, 2nd in evaluation, 1st in identification, and 1st overall. Seniors Hope and Logan were on a combined senior team and their team placed 4th in quality assurance, 2nd in evaluation, 4th in identification, and 3rd overall.
