4-H Animal Project Opportunity

Are you interested in a small animal 4-H project such as raising a meat goat? If you answered yes, this opportunity is for you! A meat goat farmer approached us at the Alamance County 4-H office with an opportunity to help a young person get involved in animal projects and agriculture. To help one youth/family the farmer has graciously offered to donate one Boer goat kid!
What can you do/learn through a 4-H animal project? You can learn more about meat goats through 4-H curriculum, record your experiences in a 4-H project record book, learn how to show a meat goat (and attend a show), educate your family/friends/neighbors/classmates about meat goats and agriculture, and SO much more!
To make this opportunity fair for all, we have created a short Google Form that parents can complete by March 1, 2021. We will then randomly draw from the list of youth and announce the recipient.
Please note, you will be responsible for housing, fencing, water/feed, and care of the goat kid if you are the recipient.
