Join us for our first Alamance County 4-H Chicken Show & Sale on Saturday, October 6, 2018. The show and sale will be held at Buster Sykes Demonstration Farm located at 2430 Turner Rd. in Mebane. We will begin the show at 9:30 a.m. and the sale will follow at approximately 10:30 a.m. Please see information below about the sale. We will have 15 youth exhibiting chickens that they raised from chicks through the 4-H program.
4-H Chicken Sale Information
Anyone interested in purchasing a lot of 3 birds for $40 (half goes to 4-H youth, half back to the program) must register upon arrival at the show. There are six lots of Barred Plymouth Rocks for sale. If more than six buyers are present, a ticket raffle system will be used to determine buyers and buying order. Buyers are limited to one lot of birds unless there are not enough buyers present. Birds are 6 month old ready-to-lay (or already laying) female pullets that were raised by 4-H members. Birds were purchased from Murray McMurray Hatchery fully vaccinated in April 2018. We will accept cash or check.
