Nutrition & Health

Welcome to Alamance County Nutrition & Health

Food is the universal language that connects us all—after all, everyone has to eat! Whether you are looking to master a new recipe, keep your kitchen safe, or stock your pantry with home-grown harvests, the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) program is here to help. Led by Extension Agent Sara Roscoe, our mission is to provide Alamance County residents of all ages with the tools they need to lead healthier, more sustainable lives.

What We Offer

Through a blend of science-based education and practical skills, we bring the kitchen to life with:

  • Cooking Demonstrations: Join us out in the community to learn how to prepare nutritious, delicious meals on a budget.
  • Hands-on Workshops: Dive deep into food safety and home food preservation.
  • Youth Programs: Our Farm to Early Childhood Education Collaborative and engaging 4-H camps and activities are designed to inspire the next generation of chefs and health advocates.
